About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced SEN teacher to work closely with students who require additional support to reach their full potential. You will collaborate with the SENCO and other teaching staff to develop Individual Education Plans (IEPs), monitor and track students' progress, and adjust teaching methods and resources as needed.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Tailored Lessons: Deliver tailored lessons and interventions to students with a range of special educational needs.
  2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategies that support personalised learning, with a focus on differentiated instruction.
  3. Collaborative Working: Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, support staff, and parents to develop IEPs and monitor student progress.
  4. Positive Classroom Environment: Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environment where every student feels valued and capable.
  5. External Collaboration: Collaborate with external professionals where needed (e.g., educational psychologists, speech therapists) to provide holistic support for students.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential, with a recognised teaching qualification.
  • SEN Experience: Previous experience working with students with special educational needs in a school setting is highly desirable.
  • SEN Knowledge: A strong understanding of best practices in SEN, including differentiated instruction, behaviour management techniques, and knowledge of specific learning difficulties and conditions.
  • Effective Communication: Ability to engage and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
  • Commitment to Inclusive Education: A commitment to ensuring all students can achieve their potential.
