About Our Setting:

As an independent specialist setting, we cater for pupils aged 11-19 who have a primary diagnosis of Autism, alongside other complex needs. We take pride in offering a supportive and tailored environment that meets the unique needs of each student.

Job Overview:

This full-time teaching assistant role involves working closely with a team to provide exceptional care and education to young people. The successful candidate will support the class teacher and students, assisting with behavioural management and supporting students' mental health needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Support lesson delivery under the guidance of the class teacher
  • Provide support to students during lessons and throughout the school day
  • Lead small group interventions to support academic and emotional development
  • Provide one-to-one support to students as directed by the class teacher
  • Help to maintain a positive and productive classroom environment
  • Support students with their social and emotional development, promoting positive behaviour
  • Assist in implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and monitoring progress

The ideal candidate will possess

  • a very good level of spoken and written English
  • strong behaviour management skills
  • high levels of resilience and patience
  • the ability to remain calm under pressure and in challenging situations
  • empathy and understanding of the needs of students with Autism and SEMH needs
Remuneration:

A competitive salary package is available for this role, reflecting the importance of the work we do. Based on the location and requirements, the estimated salary is £90 - £110 per day.
