Job Title: Construction Cost Controller

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Construction Cost Controller to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating and submitting Commercial Landscaping Tenders, managing projects from start to finish, and working closely with clients and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and submit Commercial Landscaping Tenders, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  2. Manage projects from start to finish, including measuring PDF drawings, determining scope of work, and pricing.
  3. Distribute sub-contract bid packages and obtain prices for all elements of the tender.
  4. Assist clients with technical feedback at all stages of the tender and award process.
  5. Assign or propose profit margins based on department guidelines.
  6. Price bills of quantities ready for submittal and enter all supplementary bid information.
  7. Identify areas of risk or concern within the scheme and present them to the Senior Estimator.
  8. Attend pre and post-contract meetings with clients as required.
  9. Maintain the tender register.
  10. Contact clients for updates on bid submissions.
  11. Build and maintain strong, professional working relationships with clients, suppliers, and sub-contractors.

Requirements:

  1. Current experience in an Estimating role, preferably in Landscaping but possibly in a Construction or Groundworks company.
  2. CAD and/or estimating software experience, with training available.
  3. Experience in preparing and submitting tenders for Commercial Landscaping, Groundwork, or General Construction works.
  4. Understanding of Contracts and Project risk management.
  5. Good general IT skills, including MS Office.
  6. Organized with good time management and used to meeting tender deadlines.
  7. Good communication skills.
  8. Full driving license.
