Job Title: Construction Estimator

We are seeking a skilled Construction Estimator to join our team at CV Library. As a key member of our Commercial Landscaping Team, you will play a crucial role in the organisation's ongoing success and the creation of award-winning landscapes.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Estimator and be responsible for creating and submitting Commercial Landscaping Tenders. You will have ownership of your projects and manage the award of schemes to the point of handover to operational teams.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Utilise estimating software such as Bluebeam Revu to accurately measure PDF drawings and produce Bills of Quantities.
  2. Determine the scope of work and specifications for pricing purposes.
  3. Distribute sub-contract bid packages and obtain prices for all elements of the tender.
  4. Assist clients with technical feedback at all stages of the tender and award process.
  5. Assign or propose Profit Margins based on department guidelines.
  6. Price bills of quantities ready for submittal and enter all supplementary bid information.
  7. Identify areas of risk or concern within the scheme and present them to the Senior Estimator.
  8. Attend Pre and Post Contract meetings with clients as required.
  9. Maintain the tender register.
  10. Contact clients for updates on bid submissions.
Requirements:
  • Current experience in an Estimating role, preferably in Landscaping but possibly in Construction or Groundworks.
  • CAD and/or estimating software experience, with training available.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting tenders for Commercial Landscaping, Groundwork, or General Construction works.
  • Understanding of Contracts and Project risk management.
  • Good general IT skills, including MS Office.
  • Organised with good time management and used to meeting tender deadlines.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Full driving licence.
