Job Summary:

Hill Dickinson is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Debt Recovery Specialist to join our Commercial Litigation team in Manchester. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for handling a complex caseload of debt recovery matters, including enforcement of loan agreements, personal guarantees, and debt recovery instructions from lenders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling a complex caseload of debt recovery matters, including enforcement of loan agreements, personal guarantees, and debt recovery instructions from lenders.
  • Client liaison in person, in writing, and over the telephone.
  • Communicating with clients, litigants in person, solicitors, counsel, courts, and all other interested parties.
  • Resolving issues that arise as part of the litigation process.
  • Drafting a range of legal documents, including court pleadings and correspondence.
  • Instructing counsel and experts.
  • Preparation of reports to clients.
  • Negotiation.
  • Business development, including preparation of articles and insights.
  • Undertaking additional tasks provided by the other members of the team.

Requirements:

  • Experience and a real interest in dealing with Financial Litigation and Debt Recovery Claims.
  • General Commercial Litigation experience.
  • The ability to be proactive when dealing with claims and communicating with clients and other solicitors.
  • A positive, can-do attitude.
  • Able to work as a team player, assisting across the team, as well as being able to work independently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships internally and externally.
  • Hard working and professional.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of clients' needs/expectations to meet client protocols/agreed service levels.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, including ability to plan and prioritise work appropriately so that deadlines are met.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Adheres to guidelines, procedures, and ethics.
  • Demonstrates the firm's values.
