About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Claims Handler to join our team in Newport, South Wales. As a Claims Handler, you will be responsible for managing a varied caseload of volume pre-litigated work, reviewing claims, and resolving disputes through negotiation and litigation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review claims assessing fault and compensation within authority limits
  • Resolve claims through negotiation and litigation within client service standards
  • Maintain contact with clients and their customers while proactively managing their expectations
  • Meet individual performance measures (financial and quality performance measures)
  • Ensure the DAC Beachcroft brand and standards are maintained
What You'll Need
  • IT skills - Be IT literate with a good working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • Prioritisation and Organisation Skills - the ability to structure your time well, prioritise work effectively and recognise when to ask for help
  • Interpersonal skills - communication skills to liaise with clients, intermediaries and colleagues on the phone and in person
  • Analytical skills - The ability to critically look at factual evidence, identify key legal arguments and apply the same
  • Commercial sense - The ability to know the principle or law but also know when is it worth pursuing it
  • Resilience - The ability to stand your ground in a telephone negotiation and to receive feedback
  • Commitment and enthusiasm - with a professional attitude
