At Area Camden Group, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Manager to join our team. As a Deputy Manager, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of our children's home.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Supervise and support Key/Support Workers to ensure high-quality care is delivered to young people.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Manager to oversee the home's operations, including quality of care, recruitment, training, communication, and financial matters.
  • Assess and recognize individual needs, involving relevant agencies and relatives to develop personalized care plans.
  • Provide exceptional personal care and attention to young people, adhering to individual care plans and maintaining a supportive and respectful environment.
  • Promote the social and emotional well-being and development of young people.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory and legal requirements, including Ofsted, COSHH, Health and Safety, and the Health & Social Care Act.
  • Stay updated with national standards, related legislation, and inspection frameworks, contributing to inspections by Ofsted and other professionals.
  • Administer medication as prescribed, maintaining accurate records.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and relationships with young people, relatives, and external professionals.
  • Support the Registered Manager with staffing requirements, including recruitment and training needs identification.
Requirements:
  • At least 2 years of residential childcare experience.
  • Hold a Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent.
  • Child Protection experience.
  • Leadership and staff supervision skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage budgets and staff rotas.
  • Project management skills and a proactive approach.
  • Commitment to ongoing personal development.
