Primary School Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join our team in a Year 5 class. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with their learning, promoting a positive environment, and collaborating with teachers.
Key Responsibilities:- Work closely with the class teacher to develop and implement lesson plans, providing additional support to students as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging them to take ownership of their learning and develop essential life skills.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive learning environment, managing classroom behavior and resolving conflicts when necessary.
- Assist with resource preparation, activity setup, and tidying the classroom, ensuring that all materials are organized and easily accessible.
- Collaborate with colleagues, including specialists, to ensure seamless delivery of lessons and optimal student outcomes.
- Support children across the curriculum, providing individualized attention and adapting teaching methods to meet diverse needs.
- Help prepare lessons, mark work, and report student progress, maintaining accurate records and communicating effectively with parents and carers.
- Supervise students during school trips and activities, prioritizing their safety and well-being.
- Attend meetings, contributing to discussions and offering insights from a unique perspective.
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a teaching or support role.
- NVQ level 2 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Confidence in guiding individuals or small groups, with a patient and empathetic approach.
- Ability to manage challenging behavior and maintain a positive attitude under pressure.
- Classroom management skills, with a focus on creating a supportive and engaging learning environment.
