About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Contract Management Professional to lead our Strategic Procurement Team within the Resources Directorate. As a key member of the team, you will advise and support senior management and officers on all aspects of contract management activity within the Council Directorates.
About You
You will have significant contract management experience and a strong understanding of business partnering, analytical, commercial, communication, and organizational skills. You will thrive in forming strategic relationships with senior management teams and have oversight of the organisation's contract management strategy, best practice, guidance, and training.
You will work to develop the commercial skills and governance around contract management with heads of service, commissioning managers, and contract managers. In addition, you will manage and govern a portfolio of corporate contracts to drive increased value from suppliers, mitigate commercial and contractual risk, and control and oversee spend.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a contract management framework for the Council.
- Advise and support senior management and officers on all aspects of contract management activity.
- Form strategic relationships with senior management teams and heads of service.
- Manage and govern a portfolio of corporate contracts.
