Recovery Support Specialist

The Recovery Support Specialist will provide a comprehensive and inclusive recovery support service to clients committed to abstinence-based recovery. This will involve working with clients to develop and implement recovery plans, providing guidance and advice, and facilitating access to resources and support.



About the Role

This role sits within the Recovery Directorate and forms part of the Recovery Support Team. The team focuses on a person-centred approach, enabling service users to sustain and maintain their recovery and fulfil their best potential.



Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Recovery Support Specialist include:




  • Providing a comprehensive and inclusive recovery support service to clients
  • Working with clients to develop and implement recovery plans
  • Providing guidance and advice to clients
  • Facilitating access to resources and support for clients
  • Supporting the team with the delivery of recovery support services
  • Conducting research to support new projects and activities within the Recovery Directorate
  • Developing links with relevant agencies and organisations
  • Developing skills in the collection and recording of data for audit, research and reporting purposes
  • Facilitating/delivering any interventions or structured programmes that fall within the Recovery Directorate


Requirements

The ideal candidate will have knowledge and experience of the criminal justice sector and the recovery agenda. They will also have a thorough knowledge of the needs of clients who are in abstinence-based recovery. Experience of assessing adults in need of support around substance misuse and maintaining abstinence-based recovery is essential.
