Recovery Navigator Role

The Recovery Navigator sits within The Forward Trust's Recovery Directorate, forming part of the Recovery Support Team. This post will support Forward Trust service users committed to a recovery pathway, including those with complex needs.

The role is based in HMP Send, HMP Downview, and HMP Bronzefield, with some remote working and travel to Head office (London), HMP The Mount, and Surrey community projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive, inclusive, and bespoke Recovery Support Services, including advice and guidance to Forward Trust clients.
  • Conduct robust needs assessments to identify service user needs and create a bespoke supportive plan.
  • Ensure a holistic service is delivered safely to clients, in line with individual and team targets outlined by the Team Leader.
  • Support the organisation and smooth running of events and Forward reunions.
  • Deliver Recovery Support services, including 1:1 casework and group work.
  • Work with the Communications team to research and write copy, new stories, and case studies for internal and external audiences.
Requirements:
  • A thorough knowledge of the needs of clients in recovery.
  • Experience of assessing adults in need of support around substance misuse and maintaining abstinence-based recovery.
  • Experience of substance misuse field and/or related field experience.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing high caseloads and maintaining effective case records.
  • Experience of delivering 1:1 and group-work interventions.
