Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining can forming tooling and the toolroom equipment. Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring a smooth production process by preparing the needed tools for the front end
  • Prioritising required rework tooling to meet daily needs of production
  • Identifying and reporting possible tooling shortages/risks in line with the production schedule.
  • Measuring and controlling tooling
  • Inspecting/measuring tooling
  • Making Tool packs/Size Change Tooling.
  • Controlling the ring grinding process
  • Maintenance and upkeep of grinders
  • Sorting finished tooling into storage cabinets
  • Analysing data related to tooling/oil usage and plant KPIs
  • Rebuilding and maintaining unit spares
  • Providing height change support
  • Controlling Necker tooling in toolroom and satellite stores
  • Maintaining housekeeping standards of tool room
  • Carrying out plant maintenance as required

Skills and Qualifications

We require someone with:

  • Strong computer literacy and ability to generate reports and manage via computerised data
  • Good working knowledge of Health and Safety work practices
  • Experience in a manufacturing background in a high speed, high volume continuous process
  • Ability to assist with breakdowns
  • Ability to work precisely with strong attention to detail
  • Team player with strong problem solving and analytical skills, able to work alone under their own initiative.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and organise and prioritise their own workload.
  • Ability to complete paperwork accurately and thoroughly
  • Experience of inspecting/measuring tooling
  • Possess an enthusiastic and proactive, goal orientated approach
  • Maintains technical knowledge by attending training courses as and when required
  • Flexibility or willingness to travel

Salary and Benefits

We are offering an estimated salary of £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, dependent on experience. Benefits include access to training and development opportunities, flexible working hours and a supportive team environment.
