We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Highways Engineer to join our team at Strata Construction Consulting in London. As a key member of our Civil Engineering team, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional engineering design services to our clients.
About the RoleThe successful candidate will assist our Director and Associate Director in establishing new business relationships with clients, provide training and direction to our London Civil staff, and implement company policies. You will also be responsible for implementing Health and Safety policies and procedures on projects, overseeing team compliance, and allocating civil staff resources to projects.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in establishing new business relationships with clients

- Collect, prepare, and compile bids and fee proposals for the London office
To be successful in this role, you will need a BEng (Hons) or MEng (Hons) degree in Civil Engineering or a related field. You should have experience in preliminary design, design management, detail design, and documentation, including preparing specifications for Civil Engineering projects.
Specifically, you should have expertise in:
- Highways Geometric and Drainage design
- Flood risk assessments
- Surface water and foul sewer design
- Basement drainage systems, including under-slab drainage to building regulations
- Retention basins, attenuation tanks, and other SuDS features for design and implementation
- Negotiating with statutory undertakers, the Highways Agency, the Environment Agency, Local Lead Flood Authorities, and other local authorities
You should be familiar with industry standards, including the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges, Specification for Highway Works, SuDS Manual, Sewers for Adoption, and Standard details used by local authorities.
