About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and self-motivated MGV Driver to join our team at Royal Mail Group. As a member of our driving team, you will be the public face of Royal Mail and an established part of the community.

Much of your day will be spent driving, collecting bulk mail from major customers, Post Offices, and transporting mail between our Mail Centres and Delivery offices at prearranged times. Part of the role will be loading and unloading your van and sorting it into correct onward distribution.

About You

We are looking for someone who is upbeat and self-motivated, happy working alone as well as part of a team, and getting to know the different people on your round. You will have a strong sense of community and the idea of doing a job that involves flexible shift patterns will appeal.

We deliver mail come rain or shine, so we're looking for people who like being outdoors whatever the weather, and because there is walking involved in every round, you'll also be someone who likes the idea of doing a job that will help you keep fit.

Driving Licence Requirements

A full UK manual driving licence (in your current UK address), having less than 6 penalty points is essential but ideally a clean licence is preferred. You must have obtained your Periodic Driver Certificate of Professional Competence qualification (CPC) and hold a valid Drivers Qualification Card (DQC) with 35 hours training to be eligible to apply.

Pay and Benefits

You will be paid weekly, increments at 6 months and 12 months are subject to satisfactory performance. Starting Salary £602.60 per week pro rata, plus overtime and shift allowance.

Hours of work:

We are looking to offer a variety of contracts:

  • 31:40 Hours a week
  • 28 Hours a week
  • 25:30 Hours a week
  • 19:45 Hours a week
  • 29:45 Hours a week
