Transportation Management Division at Commonwealth of Virginia

The mission of the Transportation Management Division is to ensure a safe and efficient transportation framework that supports the operational needs of the organization.

  • Formulate and implement transportation guidelines, protocols, and initiatives to enhance operational safety and efficiency.
  • Conduct monthly evaluations of fleet maintenance status.
  • Keep detailed monthly logs of maintenance activities for transportation assets.
  • Assess and allocate requests for long-distance transportation services.
  • Participate in collaborative meetings with stakeholders to address transportation requirements.
  • Engage with suppliers to secure competitive quotes for procurement needs.
  • Fulfill reporting obligations on a monthly, weekly, and annual basis.
  • Ensure adherence to transportation certification standards among staff.
  • Authorize timesheets for both full-time and part-time personnel.
Essential Qualifications
  • Proven supervisory experience in transportation management.
  • Familiarity with modern navigation technologies and systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks.

  • A minimum of five years' experience in transportation service operations.
