Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly qualified Lecturer to join our team at the School of Supply Chain, Logistics, & Maritime Operations at Old Dominion University.

About the Position

This is a full-time, renewable 10-month appointment beginning in Fall 2024. The successful candidate will be expected to develop new supply chain, logistics, and maritime courses to support the growth of the School's programs and meet industry needs for expert labor.

Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in supply chain, logistics, and maritime operations.
  • Develop and maintain curriculum to meet industry needs and academic standards.
  • Engage in committee service, student mentoring, and program advising.
  • Perform outreach activities to interface with the Maritime and/or supply chain business community.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • A strong commitment to teaching excellence.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience interfacing with the Maritime and/or supply chain business community.
  • Experience engaging in outreach activities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Ph.D. in Supply Chains, Business Analytics, Decision Science, Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field.
  • Teaching experience in supply chain, logistics, or maritime courses at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Experience providing student mentoring.
  • Operations and Supply Chain, Logistics, or Maritime industry experience.
  • Interest in collaborative and experiential learning with K-12 and local Maritime and Supply Chain partners.
