The Opportunity

Global Talent 2020 is partnering with a renowned restaurant group in Edinburgh to find a skilled Sous Chef for their upscale cafe/restaurant venue in the heart of the city. This esteemed group is committed to delivering exceptional dining experiences and is seeking a passionate and experienced professional to join their kitchen team.

The successful candidate will be part of a small, dedicated kitchen brigade responsible for producing high-quality, locally sourced fine dining menus for the main restaurant and private dining areas. The group's commitment to quality is evident in their scratch-made dishes, with herbs and ingredients grown in their on-site garden.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience in volume restaurants, with a strong focus on quality, presentation, and menu development. They will be highly approachable, with excellent communication skills, and be able to build and sustain relationships with senior department heads, regional management, and diverse teams.

The role requires flexibility, adaptability, and a passion for food innovation, with a strong attention to detail and ability to manage the kitchen environment, health and safety, and cost control.

The Person

We are seeking a solid and passionate leader in the kitchen to help with menu development, lead the team, and deliver a high-quality standard of food across all restaurants. The ideal candidate will be confident, good at building and sustaining relationships, and able to maintain the high standard of food quality, menu development, and adherence to company brand standards.

The successful candidate will have prior experience of producing fresh quality food, with experience of volume restaurants in the high street space. They will be highly approachable, with excellent communication skills, and be able to build and sustain relationships with senior department heads, regional management, and diverse teams.

We require an ideal Sous Chef who is keen to train, coach, and mentor their teams, evolve food services, deliver consistent menus and food concepts, and further the reputation of the business as an Employer of choice.
