Residential Children’s Home Manager – Therapeutic Care Leader


Flourish Children’s Service is seeking an experienced and passionate Residential Children’s Home Manager to lead a new therapeutic home for young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD). As the Home Manager, you will be responsible for creating a nurturing, positive culture where young people feel safe, valued, and empowered.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Regulatory Compliance: Oversee all aspects of the home’s operation, ensuring full compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Care Standards, and safeguarding protocols.
  • Positive Culture and Therapeutic Environment: Lead by example to create and nurture a positive, therapeutic culture, promoting respect, dignity, and inclusivity for young people. Foster a warm, supportive atmosphere where both young people and staff can thrive.
  • Therapeutic Support for EBD: Build a nurturing and therapeutic environment tailored to the needs of young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties. Implement approaches that foster resilience, emotional well-being, and personal growth.
  • Individualized Care Planning: Lead the development and implementation of personalized care plans and risk assessments, ensuring they are regularly reviewed and updated in collaboration with the young person and relevant professionals.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure all documentation, reports, and records are accurate, up-to-date, and meet the highest quality standards. Provide reports as required to families, management, and other involved professionals.
  • Safeguarding and Welfare: Maintain rigorous safeguarding standards, ensuring young people’s safety and well-being are the top priority. Implement and review safeguarding policies and procedures in line with regulatory expectations.

Requirements:



  • Passionate about Quality Care: Driven by a genuine commitment to making a difference in young people’s lives, especially those with EBD.
  • Experienced and Qualified: Hold or be working towards a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Residential Childcare, with a proven track record in managing a children’s residential setting.
  • Compliance-Focused: Strong understanding of Children’s Homes Regulations, Quality Care Standards, and safeguarding requirements.
  • A Strong Leader: Skilled in managing teams, creating a positive, nurturing culture, and fostering professional development.
  • Additional Requirements: A full UK driving license and an enhanced DBS certificate.
