About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Modelling Engineer to join our team at Fractile. As a key member of our engineering team, you will play a critical role in developing software models of our cutting-edge AI accelerators.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop pre-silicon models of Fractile's innovative AI acceleration hardware, informing architecture definition, performance evaluation, and product design and verification.
  • Enable early software development using models of products in development.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and ML engineers in a highly collaborative hardware-software co-design methodology.
  • Contribute to the definition of business-wide modelling requirements and strategy.
  • Support and develop more junior colleagues.
Requirements
  • Strong experience of pre-silicon modelling of semiconductor IP covering one or more of architectural, performance, verification and functional modelling.
  • Expert knowledge of modelling and simulation technologies such as gem5 or SystemC.
  • First-rate C/C++ and Python skills and solid experience of industry standard development tools and technologies.
  • A deep understanding of computer architecture and hardware design.
  • An creative and innovative mindset, and a willingness to take ownership and drive results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Maths, Physics, or related degree and 7+ years of industry experience.
Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of machine learning techniques and technologies.
  • Previous experience in a startup or small team environment.
