Job Title: Senior Financial Accountant

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join our team at Paul Mitchell Associates. As a Senior Financial Accountant, you will be responsible for maintaining the financial health of our clients, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing expert financial guidance to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain fixed-asset registers, including additions and disposals, and prepare and post monthly depreciation and agreeing to P&L/balance sheet.
  • Agree monthly payroll nominal reports and post journals.
  • Prepare month-end reporting, assist the management team in preparing statutory accounts and audit packs for a range of businesses.
  • Assist with monthly P&L reviews, budgets, and forecasts.
  • Prepare detailed monthly P&L and balance sheet reports.
  • Prepare cash flow statements and control expenditure/cash flow for various companies.
  • Manage credit limits.

Requirements:

  • Qualified or Part-Qualified ACCA, CIMA, AAT, or Qualified by Experience.
  • Demonstrable experience in accounts preparation, including knowledge of VAT rules.
  • Advanced knowledge of Sage 50 would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of Payroll and CIS would be advantageous.
  • Effective communication skills, confident in presenting financial information to senior management.
  • Numerate, analytical, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent planning, organization, and the ability to achieve deadlines.
  • Experience gained in construction, contracting, or plant hire would be a distinct advantage.

What We Offer:

  • Appointment Type: Permanent.
  • Salary: £45,000 - £65,000 (subject to experience).
  • Hours: Full-Time.
