Project Manager - Electrical Infrastructure

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Large Capital Delivery team, responsible for delivering electrical infrastructure projects that meet our customer's requirements, in a safe and timely manner at the agreed cost.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, with experience of managing construction projects involving underground cables, overhead lines, and substation works up to 132kV. They will also have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels, both internal and external.

The role will involve working closely with design engineers, field staff, contractors, customers, and key stakeholders to ensure the projects proceed safely, efficiently, and to plan. The successful candidate will also have experience in contract management and ideally have experience of NEC construction contracts.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Managing a range of projects in accordance with our investment management process.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the project including safety, quality, cost, and programme.
  • Ensuring project documentation and contracts along with supporting information are compliant, maintained, and complete through each phase of the project life cycle in line with SSE processes.
  • Providing support to both our customer and delivery partners through excellent stakeholder engagement to ensure the projects proceed safely, efficiently, and to plan.
