About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Engineer I to join our team at Mondelēz International. As a key member of our R&D team, you will be responsible for leading or participating in the execution of major project types related to the Lotus Bakeries Partnership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Independently lead or participate in the execution of major project types, including multiple projects in parallel with phased deadlines, or medium to large-sized RD&Q projects with 2-3 interfaces outside RD&Q.
  • Work closely with the BD & Engineering team on projects, participate in design review activities, and interact with equipment suppliers on technical solutions.
  • Ensure consistency, technical precision, and compliance with methods of work.
  • Recommend improvements within the department.
  • Independently interpret data to deliver results and draw business-relevant conclusions.
  • Effectively structure and present status updates/proposals to influence partners or share with senior management.
  • Awareness of business partners with a focus on network-building.
  • Requires minimal coaching by direct manager on complex activities, especially business-related topics, or new technical knowledge.
Requirements
  • A degree in Food Science or Engineering, ideally in a fast-moving consumer goods market.
  • Experience working in teams and independently with the guidance of a manager.
  • Prioritizing and managing activities.
  • Identifying and implementing solutions independently.
  • Applying fundamental technical understanding to interpret and analyze data to reach clear conclusions.
  • Communicating effectively verbally and in writing, including technical writing.
What We Offer

The holder of this position will be accountable for the process R&D aspects within the IIM framework for projects related to the MDLZ-Lotus Bakeries partnership. Projects could cover all platforms, tablets, seasonals, etc. The right person for this role delivers technical knowledge for the function, develops solutions to problems, while ensuring compliance with technical policies & procedures.

This will require working in a cross-functional project team with supply chain, marketing, procurement, suppliers, external manufacturers, and other RDQ functions.

What We're Looking For
  • Extensive proven experience working within an RDQ environment within the food industry, ideally within process development roles. Experience within confectionery or bakery categories is an advantage.
  • Good understanding of RDQ product and process specifications.
  • Good knowledge of chocolate category regarding raw materials, processing, manufacturing, and formulation fundamentals is an advantage.
Education/Certifications

BEng/MEng/PhD in Chemical Engineering, BSc, MSc, or PhD in Food Science, Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Travel Requirements

You will be required to travel to MDLZ sites, suppliers, and external manufacturers as projects require ~20% of time.

Work Schedule

Full-time, Monday-Friday (flexible working available).
