We are seeking an inspirational and passionate fundraising leader to join our senior management team as Director of Development and Partnerships. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead the fundraising and development strategy into an exciting new phase.

About the National Literacy Trust

The National Literacy Trust empowers children, young people, and adults from disadvantaged communities with the literacy skills they need to succeed. We work directly with young people and their families, with schools, nurseries, prisons, and through our teams leading community literacy programmes in various locations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the fundraising and development strategy to achieve impressive growth and inspire a team of talented and ambitious fundraisers to success.
  • Develop and deliver successful fundraising strategies, building and maintaining strong relationships with corporate partners, trusts, and foundations.
  • Work closely with the senior management team to build a strong and inclusive organisational culture, aligned with our ED&I commitments.
  • Engage, motivate, and inspire the development department to achieve their goals.
Requirements
  • Experience in building and delivering successful fundraising strategies.
  • Exceptional communication skills across all audiences, including working at board level.
  • Excellent understanding of financial planning and reporting.
  • Natural leadership skills, with the ability to engage and motivate a team.
