Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership
    • Lead, mentor, and manage direct reports and the wider Cleaning and Waste Management teams effectively, including hiring, training, coaching, and performance evaluating.
  • Strategic Planning
    • Create and deliver a long-term vision for the Cleaning and Waste Management teams, while actively meeting our Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) targets and realizing additional revenue.
  • Waste Management Innovation
    • Develop a new area of specialism and expertise for 'waste management,' and work with the Waste Manager to proactively develop this innovation for the business.
  • Financial Management
    • Manage Capex planning, budgeting, forecasting, and cost control for cleaning supplies, equipment, waste management, and 3rd party staff schedules.
Requirements
  • Sustainability Knowledge
    • Knowledge of sustainability principles and experience implementing sustainable practices in cleaning and waste management.
  • Cleaning and Waste Management Expertise
    • Strong knowledge of cleaning techniques, waste management practices, and environmental regulations.
  • Project Management
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
  • Financial Acumen
    • Maximize the potential ancillary revenues throughout the planning cycle. Ensure a profitable balance between event cost and event delivery through effective cost control measures and monthly forecasting and maximize revenue.
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Monitor and enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, regularly update and analyze risk assessments and method statements in Cleaning and Waste Management.
  • Sustainability Practices
    • Implement sustainable practices to reduce waste generation, increase recycling rates, and minimize environmental impact.
  • Quality Assurance
    • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness, sanitation, and proper waste disposal practices throughout.
  • Policies and Procedures
    • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to understand their Cleaning and Waste Management needs and expectations.
  • Performance Evaluation
    • Evaluate event success and effectiveness through effective debriefs, post-event analysis, and feedback.
  • Team Scheduling
    • Manage teams shift schedules alongside the Operations Planning Manager, to reduce the number of TOIL days accrued or overtime payments made, ensuring staff welfare is a key priority.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Provide regular reports and updates to the Director of Venue Operations and other members of the Leadership team on performance metrics as agreed or requested.
  • Key Performance Indicators
    • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to achieve targets.
  • Industry Knowledge
    • Knowledge of current industry trends and best practices.

Working Hours
