About the Role

The Senior Finance Business Partner will play a key role in providing a commercially focused finance business partnering service across UCAS' business units, supporting the delivery of the UCAS strategy.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business units to ensure the impact of decisions is understood, performance is tracked, and outcomes are explored.
  • Influence decisions, shape strategy, and drive the direction of the business to ensure key operational, commercial, and financial targets are met.
  • Support the business planning process, including forecasting, financial modeling, business cases, and efficiency and reform measures, to inform decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain a product profitability model to provide forward-looking, automated, and system-driven insights.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers to understand product margins, profitability, and their impact on strategic direction.
  • Contribute to partnerships and acquisitions, including financial modeling, integration support, and ongoing reporting.
  • Monitor the performance of new partnerships and acquisitions, and liaise with other Finance Business Partners on business impact.
  • Act as a strategic change agent for financial projects, gaining buy-in and engagement from stakeholders at all levels.

Requirements:

  • Qualified accountant or equivalent experience with excellent knowledge of financial accounting principles and processes.
  • Demonstrable experience in implementing process or systems improvement projects, ideally in a service-based business.
  • Experience in partnerships and acquisitions.
  • Outgoing, persuasive, and confident communicator with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze and report at a strategic and operational level, with a concise and agile approach.
  • Confident and organized to lead projects in a structured way.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and time-pressured environment, delivering high-quality results on time.
  • Curious and committed to improvement, with the ability to challenge the status quo and find innovative solutions.
  • Proven experience in financial performance reporting and planning, with a clear view on presenting information and making recommendations.
