PMLD Teacher Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced PMLD Teacher to join our team at a small SEND school in Gateshead. The ideal candidate will have QTS and a strong background in working with children with profound multiple learning difficulties.

The school caters for students aged 2-19 with a range of diverse special educational needs. Our educational and therapeutic community provides a supportive environment for students to gain skills that build their independence in the adult world.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and supporting students with PMLD in a small SEND school setting
  • Developing and implementing individualized education plans to meet the needs of students
  • Collaborating with other teachers and support staff to provide a comprehensive education and care program
  • Assessing and reporting on student progress and development
Requirements:
  • QTS and a strong background in special education
  • Experience working with children with PMLD
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
