Leader Education is currently recruiting a Teacher to work at a small SEND school in Gateshead. The ideal candidate will have QTS as well as experience working with children with profound multiple learning difficulties. The school caters for ages 2-19-year-olds with a range of diverse special educational needs. They are an educational and therapeutic community for their students, helping them to gain skills that build their independence in the adult world.

The school strives for success across all parts of the institution, ranging from students' progression and personal development of teachers to overall relationships built between students and teaching assistants. The Teacher will be part of a team that focuses on providing a supportive and inclusive environment for students with special educational needs.

The normal working pattern is Monday to Friday, 8:30am until 4:30pm, and is a long-term position. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in education or a related field, DBS or be willing to obtain one, QTS/TRN, and specialised training or working experience with PMLD. They will also have familiarity with a variety of teaching methodologies and behavioural intervention strategies, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong organisational and time-management abilities.
