Job Title: Autism Learning Support Specialist

Location: Hebburn, Tyne and Wear

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as an Autism Learning Support Specialist at a Primary School in Hebburn. The ideal candidate will have experience working alongside children and young people in an educational environment.


About the Role:

  • This is a challenging yet rewarding role that requires a high level of emotional intelligence, empathy, and communication skills.
  • The successful candidate will work closely with teachers, support staff, and other professionals to ensure the best possible outcomes for pupils with special needs.
  • You will be responsible for assisting with classroom activities, providing one-to-one support, and contributing to the development of tailored learning plans.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS clearance or willingness to obtain it
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience working alongside children with SEND in an educational setting
  • Adequate understanding of safeguarding and the overall welfare of children
  • Ability to assist with classroom activities and provide one-to-one support to pupils requiring extra support
