About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Hardware Design Engineer to join our Engineering team at Siemens Energy Gas and Power Services based in Lincoln. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for the design and development of Turbine and Auxiliary Control Panel hardware and Turbine Package electrical systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing solutions to replace obsolete equipment/parts to maintain the business's fleet of gas turbines
  • Converting these solutions into generic replacement kits/parts for retrofitting
  • Designing/constructing new hardware solutions to replace obsolete Turbine controls systems or upgrade current terms
  • Constructing new hardware solutions to replace obsolete auxiliary controls systems, such as Generator Control Panels, Motor Control Centres, and Power within Gas Explosive atmospheres
  • Supporting sales by supplying detailed quotes for engineering times, potential hardware requirements, and possible engineering solutions for customer inquiries

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent in an engineering subject area, preferably related to Controls, Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, and Software
  • Working experience with hardware design CAD tools, such as Promise-e and Microstation
  • Knowledge of change/configuration management tools and processes, as well as experience with other IT-related tools and software for business analytics and project management
  • Working experience of IEC60079 Explosive atmospheres Part 14: Electrical Installation design and selection would be beneficial
  • Experience of working with gas turbine technology or similar industrial products for Oil & Gas or Energy industry would be advantageous
