Job Opportunity

We are seeking a researcher to join our Converging Technologies Research Group, working on the Social Digital Twin (SDT) project. The SDT develops solutions to social issues by combining large-scale data with knowledge from various fields, including data science, the humanities, and social sciences.

As a researcher in this role, you will be responsible for evaluating requirements for SDT applications, identifying suitable technologies and data, designing and implementing proofs of concept or prototype systems, and acquiring domain knowledge of SDT application areas.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Evaluating requirements for SDT applications
  • Identifying suitable technologies and data to fulfill these requirements
  • Designing and implementing proofs of concept or prototype systems
  • Acquiring domain knowledge of SDT application areas

Requirements for the role include:

  • A Post-Graduate qualification in a relevant field, e.g., PhD or similar
  • Experience in the simulation of complex systems
  • Understanding of the principles of software engineering
  • Proficiency in object-oriented programming language
  • Experience in cloud development environment, e.g., AWS or Azure
  • A track record of writing academic publications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
