About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our dedicated team on the Hadleigh Unit, PICU based within Basildon Mental Health Unit. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients in an inpatient environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain effective relationships with patients, their relatives, and other carers.
  • Implement prescribed nursing care to patients, taking into account their physical, psychological, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver services and provide a 7-day-a-week, 24-hour service for 365 days a year.

Induction and Training

The successful candidate will be required to attend our 5-day face-to-face induction programme at our MSE ICS Education Hub at Brentwood Community Hospital. This will provide you with the opportunity to enhance your skills, knowledge, and experience and prepare you for your role as a Healthcare Assistant.

Person Specification

  • Essential: Educated to GCE/GCSE (Maths and English) or equivalent.
  • Desirable: NVQ level 2 or equivalent, basic understanding of legislation relating to care.
