Distribution Operations Lead

As a Distribution Operations Lead, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of your team, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of customer orders. You'll guide and motivate your team to achieve operational excellence while fostering a safe and efficient work environment.
Your Responsibilities
- Ensure your team adheres to company policies regarding timekeeping, holiday approvals, and conduct, utilizing and maintaining the company's systems effectively.
- Maintain compliance with corporate, EU, and local regulatory guidelines, safety legislation, ISO work instructions, and environmental standards within the warehouse.
- Direct the movement of goods through the warehouse, collaborating with Team Leaders and Lead Material Handlers. Ensure adherence to established work practices and departmental key performance indicators to meet business targets.
- Promote a high standard of health and safety throughout the warehouse, adhering to Health and Safety Regulations, including safe handling and storage of chemicals. Establish and monitor housekeeping standards through regular inspections.
- Collaborate with other departments to understand, maintain, and improve the supply chain process for both inbound and outbound flows to our customers.
- Maintain open communication with your team through daily tier board meetings, engaging them in business activities and addressing challenges. Interact with peers and management as needed to ensure smooth operations and seek support when required.
- Identify training and development needs for your team, establishing and maintaining training programs. Ensure individual records are kept up-to-date.
- Manage the servicing and repair of manual handling equipment, retaining service records. Oversee the replenishment of consumables and packaging materials.
- Utilize the Practical Process Improvement (PPI) system to identify areas for efficiency, profitability, and customer service enhancements.
- Demonstrate flexibility by working across all areas and shifts within operations and undertaking other reasonable duties as assigned by senior management.
