Clinical Placements within NHS Scotland

NHSGGC offers a range of clinical placements for medical and dental professionals to gain experience in a hospital setting. These placements can be tailored to suit individual needs and interests.

Our clinical placements include:

  • Clinical Attachment
  • Medical and Dental Elective Placement

Clinical Attachments provide an opportunity for medical and dental graduates to gain an overview of clinical processes and systems in a hospital setting. Observerships and Clinical Access agreements are available for practising medical graduates and doctors.

Medical and Dental Elective Placements enable visiting students to pursue an area of interest and gain experience of clinical practice in the UK healthcare system.

These placements usually last between 4-12 weeks and can be arranged through the NHS Scotland Recruitment website.

For further information, please contact the NHSGGC Workforce Supply Team at ggc.workforcesupply@ggc.scot.nhs.uk.
