Senior Optical Design Engineer Opportunity

Diamond Search Recruitment Ltd is proud to represent a leading company in the engineering and manufacturing industry, seeking a highly skilled Senior Optical Design Engineer to join their R&D team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to the research, development, and manufacturing phases of optical engineering projects.
  • Lead the systems architecture and requirements for optical amplifier designs.
  • Design and develop complex electro-optical systems, including lens and optical performance analysis.
  • Ensure quality and consistency in detailed design, including numerical calculations and tolerance studies.
  • Support the integration and testing of electro-optical systems.
  • Collaborate with optical sub-contractor partners and suppliers.
  • Participate in reviews of optical designs to ensure adherence to business and industry standards.
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of optical fibre lasers, fibre amplifiers, or non-linear fibre-optics.
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline or physics.
  • PhD is highly desirable.
  • Hands-on experience in designing and testing optical systems.
