We're seeking a talented Data Scientist Associate to join our Universal Credit team, where you'll apply your skills and experience to projects that impact millions of UK citizens.

As a Data Scientist Associate, you'll work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to design and deliver new features for the Universal Credit digital service, leveraging your expertise in datasets and data science techniques to inform development and improve outcomes.

You'll have the opportunity to work with advanced analytics, coding in SQL and Python, and applying software development best practices to create reusable and extensible codebases.

We're looking for a trusted member of our Agile team who can offer their own experience and insights to projects, while also learning from others in the data science and wider digital communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply data science techniques to solve complex problems and improve established processes
  • Work with stakeholders to understand their requirements and deliver complex analytical projects in a timely manner
  • Communicate results to a range of audiences, translating technical concepts into non-technical language where necessary
  • Explore, combine, and transform data from across disparate sources
  • Write code in R, Python, or SQL to develop innovative data-driven solutions

  • Competitive pay of up to £36,545 per annum for Leeds-based roles, with a Digital Allowance of up to £7,476 per annum for exceptional candidates
  • London-based roles offer competitive pay of up to £41,567 per annum, with a Digital Allowance of up to £2,454 per annum for exceptional candidates
