About the Role

We are seeking a talented Associate Data Scientist to join our Universal Credit team. As a key member of our multidisciplinary development team, you will apply your skills and experience to projects that affect millions of UK citizens.

Key Responsibilities
  • Apply advanced analytics techniques, such as machine learning and network analytics, to solve complex problems and improve outcomes for UC claimants and DWP staff.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality, reusable codebases using SQL and Python.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to understand their requirements and deliver complex analytical projects in a timely manner.
  • Communicate results to a range of audiences, translating technical concepts into non-technical language where necessary.
  • Explore, combine, and transform data from across disparate sources to inform business decisions.
Requirements
  • Academic background in Data Science, Maths, Statistics, or Computer Science, or equivalent Data Science-related experience.
  • Hands-on experience using data science to solve problems or improve established processes.
  • Stakeholder management skills and experience working with colleagues to understand their requirements and deliver complex analytical projects.
  • Ability to communicate results to a range of audiences and translate technical concepts into non-technical language.
  • Understanding of a range of data science techniques and the ability to apply these to practical situations.
What We Offer
  • Competitive pay of up to £36,545 per annum for Leeds-based roles, with a Digital Allowance of up to £7,476 per annum for exceptional candidates.
  • London-based roles offer competitive pay of up to £41,567 per annum, with a Digital Allowance of up to £2,454 per annum for exceptional candidates.
