Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced oncology nurse to join our team as a Deputy Ward Manager/Charge Nurse on the Oncology ward at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Ward Manager in providing clinical and managerial leadership on the ward.
  • Develop and maintain clinical skills and knowledge necessary to provide person-centred, evidence-based nursing care.
  • Lead in a specific area of ward practice, making recommendations, coordinating projects, and developing practice guidelines and policies.
  • Deputise for the sister/charge nurse in their absence, demonstrating a sound problem-solving approach to clinical and management issues.
  • Ensure the safe custody and administration of drugs according to the Trust policy.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (Part or 15 of register depending on area of practice) or National certification in area of Practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years acute care registered nurse experience.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an ongoing NMC revalidation.
  • Previous evidence of leadership within practice and the multi-disciplinary team.
