Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced oncology nurse to develop in the role of junior ward manager on the Oncology ward at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The post is a 12-month fixed term contract covering maternity leave.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assist the Ward Manager in providing clinical and managerial leadership on the ward.
  • Gain an insight into the ward manager role and develop the necessary skills and expertise to undertake the job.
  • Support the ward sister in clinical audit and research, as well as role modelling and supporting junior team members and students.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse (Part or 15 of register depending on area of practice) or National certification in area of Practice.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development through maintenance of an ongoing NMC revalidation.
  • Minimum of 3 years acute care registered nurse experience.
  • Evidence of achievement on a Nursing and Midwifery, (NMC) approved Mentorship qualification.
