Workshop Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workshop Controller to join our team at Bennett Renault Leeds. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our workshop, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining the highest standards of technical competence.
Key Responsibilities- Work closely with the Service Manager and Advisors to discuss progress of workshop repairs and Technician progress.
- Allocate jobs to the correct Technician, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing downtime.
- Conduct thorough examinations of vehicles, identifying non-routine defects and additional faults, and undertake Electronic Vehicle Health Checks.
- Undertake vehicle road testing for diagnosis and to test repairs, providing accurate and timely feedback to the service team.
- Provide exceptional customer service, responding to technical queries and concerns, and ensuring customers are fully briefed on work completed.
- Obtain authorization for additional work, ensuring transparency and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain a high level of technical competence, staying up-to-date with the latest diagnostic techniques and manufacturer recommendations.
- Support the development of workshop apprentices, providing guidance and mentorship to ensure their success.
- Franchise dealership experience with a relevant formal qualification (IMI/City & Guilds).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical information to colleagues and customers.
