Role Overview:

This Submarine Build Materials Technician position involves supporting the safety assessment of materials used in submarine construction, with a focus on non-metallic materials.

The role requires collaboration with material proposers and safety assessment subject matter experts to ensure compliance with safety regulations.

A key aspect of this role is maintaining accurate material information records and facilitating communication between stakeholders.

Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 per annum.

Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate safety assessments of materials used in submarine construction
  2. Liaise with material proposers and safety assessment SMEs to ensure compliance
  3. Support audits of stores and build environment, focusing on material usage
  4. Identify and discuss required testing on materials, providing test samples as needed
  5. Maintain accurate material information records in associated databases
