Material Handling Equipment Service Technician

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Field Service Team, you will be responsible for servicing and maintaining material handling equipment, ensuring maximum reliability.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will have experience in servicing, repair, or maintenance of material handling equipment, construction plant, agricultural machinery, powered access equipment, or forklift trucks. You will also have knowledge of automotive, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components.
Salary Information:
The estimated salary for this role is £33,000 - £36,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Servicing, maintenance, and repair of material handling equipment including forklifts, side loaders, and reach trucks.
- Using market-leading fleet management system to complete parts orders, job sheets, and warranty work.
- Providing best-in-class customer service for business customers.
- Booking all planned maintenance with customers.
- Agreeing workload with Field Service Team Leader prioritising as follows:
- SG fleet.
- Chargeable services.
- Key accounts (i.e., national accounts, regional major accounts).
- Supporting Patch Engineers.
- Ensuring all chargeable services are completed.
- Ensuring all fleet servicing is completed by the end of the month.
- Maintaining daily telephone contact with Operations Controller to cover:
- Service completion.
- Estimate requests.
- Damage requests.
- Clearing out WIP.
- Carrying out lifting equipment examinations, as and when required, and liaising with Field Service Team Leader.
- Carrying out PAT testing.
- Performing other tasks as directed, commensurate with the efficient running of the organisation within the skills and capabilities of the individual.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience in servicing, repair, or maintenance of material handling equipment (MHE), construction plant, agricultural machinery, powered access equipment, or forklift trucks.
- Knowledge of automotive, mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems and components.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Relevant technical qualification would be advantageous.
