Job Title: Senior Solicitor

At Vox Network Consultants, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Solicitor to join our team. As a Senior Solicitor, you will play a critical role in delivering legal services to our clients, providing expert advice and guidance on a range of legal matters.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct proceedings in the Family Proceedings Court, County Court, High Court, Crown Court, and Magistrate Court, ensuring compliance with applicable time limits.
  • Manage a high-profile, politically sensitive, and financially weighted case load, providing expert advice and guidance to colleagues, managers, and partner agencies.
  • Deal with all types of public law children and adult matters, reporting to, liaising with, and assisting the Chief Solicitor Social Care and the Borough Solicitor as necessary.
  • Advise on SEN cases and other education matters, preparing and processing all relevant matters before any court, inquiry, or tribunal.
  • Appear as the Council's advocate in Courts, Tribunals, Inquiries, or other hearings, providing expert advice to Council Officers and Members as required.
Requirements:
  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX entitled to practice in England and Wales.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize own workload, working on own initiative as necessary.
  • Broad knowledge of local government law or equivalent knowledge.
  • Knowledge and experience of social services legislation.
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues to Members and officers, providing cogent legal advice accordingly.
Contract:

This is a part-time position, working 3 days per week. Flexibility on which 3 days are worked on a week-by-week basis may be necessary due to the need to cover Tribunal hearings. PAYE via Umbrella, with an initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract.
