About the Role

SJB Medical is seeking a qualified Nurse to fill the position of Functional Assessor, working on behalf of the Department of Work & Pensions (DWP).

The Functional Assessor will be responsible for assessing individuals and understanding how their disabilities or conditions affect their work life.

You will draw upon your clinical expertise to gather information about each person's medical history, perform physical examinations, and produce detailed reports for the DWP.

Interaction with people both face-to-face and via telephone/video calls requires sensitivity, compassion, and effective communication skills while adhering to best practice standards.

Key Requirements
  • A registered Adult Nurse with a minimum of 12 months broad-based clinical post-registration experience within the past 5 years.
  • Experience in working with adults in various clinical settings, including Surgical, Medical, A&E, Community, and Practice Nursing.
  • NMC registration with Continuous Professional Development on your CV.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, enabling negotiation and adaptability in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Proficiency in using a range of software.
Salary and Benefits
  • A competitive salary of £37,500 - £43,000 + £2,000 after one year + ongoing bonus of up to 10%.
  • $1,000 after six months and $1,000 after 12 months (if approved).
