About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a warm and inclusive school in Blandford.

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with special educational needs, providing personalised assistance to help them thrive in their learning environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supporting Students: Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special educational needs, helping them engage with the curriculum effectively.
  • Implementing IEPs: Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Collaborating with Teachers: Collaborate with teachers and support staff to create an inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
  • Monitoring Progress: Monitor and record student progress, offering feedback to teachers and parents to aid in their development.
  • Fostering Relationships: Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their social, emotional, and academic growth.
Requirements
  • Experience and Qualifications: Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred. A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is also required.
  • Skills and Abilities: A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for helping students overcome learning barriers. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for building rapport with students and collaborating with colleagues.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Flexibility and adaptability are necessary to respond to the diverse needs of students in a dynamic classroom setting.
