Job Title: Teaching Assistant - Special Education Needs

Five Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support students with Special Education Needs (SEN) in a special school in Blandford Forum.

About the Role:

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide individualized support to students with SEN, helping them to remain focused and on task. This will involve guiding students when they are struggling, and helping them to become regulated and calm.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students with SEN throughout the day, providing support and guidance as needed.
  • Help students to develop their skills and confidence, and to become more independent.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized support plans for students with SEN.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A strong understanding of SEN and the needs of students with autism.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanor, with the ability to remain composed in challenging situations.
  • Able to work 8.30-3.30, 3-5 days per week, term time only.
