Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Special Education Needs

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Education Needs (SEN) in a special school in Blandford Forum. The successful candidate will work closely with the teaching staff to provide individualized support to pupils with autism and other SEN.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist pupils with their daily tasks and activities, promoting independence and self-confidence.
  • Provide one-to-one support to pupils with SEN, helping them to access the curriculum and participate in lessons.
  • Work with the teaching staff to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for pupils with SEN.
  • Support pupils with challenging behaviour, using positive behaviour management techniques and strategies.
Requirements:
  • Experience of working with pupils with SEN, particularly autism.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with pupils, teachers, and other support staff.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Flexibility and willingness to work as part of a team.
