About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Paediatrician to join our team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our paediatric services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver general community paediatric clinics in the Mid Nottinghamshire area, including clinics in Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark, and Ollerton.
  • Participate in daytime (Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm) child protection on-call rota for social care requested medical assessments (Section 47) for physical abuse.
  • Contribute to the development of our paediatric services, including the delivery of safeguarding, neuro-disability/SEND, appraisal/supervision, and teaching.
Person Specification
  • MRCPCH by examination or equivalent.
  • Full GMC registration.
  • On the GMC's Specialist Register or within six months of CCT at the time of scheduled interview.
  • Broad experience of all clinical aspects of community child health, including neuro-disability.
  • Valid Level 3 Safeguarding Training.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Higher degree, MSc, MD, PhD in Paediatrics.
  • Completed Fellowship programme.
  • DCH, DCCH, MBA, or other relevant diplomas.
  • Experience working in NHS.
  • Experience of children in care health assessments.
  • Clinical experience of adoption work, including medical advisor for adoption agency.
