About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Paediatrician to join our team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our community healthcare team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to children and families in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver general community paediatric clinics in the Mid Nottinghamshire area, including Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark, and Ollerton.
  • Provide daytime child protection on-call services for social care requested medical assessments (section 47) for physical abuse on a rota basis.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of community-based services for children with neuro-disability and special educational needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, social care teams, and community partners to ensure seamless care coordination and delivery.
  • Participate in the appraisal, supervision, and teaching of junior colleagues and medical students.
Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with the following qualifications and experience:

  • MRCPCH by examination or equivalent.
  • Full GMC registration.
  • On the GMC's Specialist Register OR within six months of CCT at time of scheduled interview.
  • Broad experience of all clinical aspects of community child health, including neuro-disability.
  • Valid Level 3 Safeguarding Training.
