About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Literacy and Speech Language Support Assistant to join our team at Quorn Hall School. As a specialist therapeutic school, we provide an integrated model of education and therapy to support children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and implementation of literacy in a 1 to 1 setting and small group interventions, with a focus on phonics, comprehension, and functional skills.
  • Identify the processes involved in communication and demonstrate the wide range of communication difficulties.
  • Build trusting student relationships and motivate and encourage pupils as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year's experience working with children and young people with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs or Autism Spectrum Conditions.
  • Ability to work in a challenging but rewarding environment.
