About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled MEP Cost Consultant to join our London-based team at Currie & Brown. As a key member of our M&E team, you will play a crucial role in delivering cost consultancy and contract administration services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation of cost plans and estimates, and support the presentation of documents from inception to feasibility stages.
  • Present cost plans and estimates, explaining and agreeing approaches to project risks and uncertainties.
  • Lead procurement activities and contract formation, ensuring effective communication and collaboration with clients.
  • Act as a contract administrator, handling general project strategy shaping and client interactions.
  • Undertake procurement of projects from start to finish, including the preparation of tender documentation.
  • Manage work packages post-contract, including change control and valuation, progress valuations, cost reports, and final accounts.
  • Provide concise and focused cost advice and reporting to clients.
  • Conduct tender analysis for contractor appointments and data capture for benchmarking and future cost plans.
  • Assume a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player.
  • Maintain effective communication to ensure all information is available for project completion and liaise with other managers for efficient financial control.
  • Deliver all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Represent and act as an ambassador for the company, meeting, negotiating, and corresponding with clients to form strong working relationships.

Requirements
  • Technical delivery experience from within the construction industry, ideally consultancy.
  • Pre and post-contract experience, including cost planning and procurement.
  • Good technical writing, strong client-facing, and communication skills.
  • Well-organised, diligent, proactive, assertive, self-starting, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
  • Ability to take on a leadership role as part of personal development planning.
  • NEC experience beneficial.
